I had the need for a family law attorney in 2013. So I looked in to Edgar and Dow. I went 9 years previously doing all the “court stuff” on my own and not getting anywhere, other then full of stress and anxiety. After meeting with Mr. Edgar in his Riverside office for a free consultation, and discussing my case for a child custody and child support modification, Mr. Edgar put me and my husband at ease and explained the entire process. Mr. Edgar told us with complete confidence that this was gong to handle everything and we hired him on the spot. His staff went to work right away and the paperwork process was made so easy. When the court date finally arrived I was a nervous wreck, but he knew all the right things to say and was so prepared to handle all the nonsense that my ex-husband was trying to convince the judge of… long story short, I’ve ended up using Mr. Edgar’s office 3 more times and each time we were completely satisfied with the judges ruling.

On a side note, What really sold us on choosing Mr. Edgar’s law office was when we asked about why we were getting nowhere with our case for the last 9 years. He told us, “think of it this way: when you’re sick, you go to a doctor for help. You don’t try to heal yourself. On the same theory, if you need help in court, get a lawyer.” Edgar and Dow is an outstanding choice for family law needs!

Attorney Bill Edgar was very professional and knowledgeable. This was a very difficult time for me and my children but Mr. Edgar and his staff were thoughtful and considerate during this sensitive time in my life. I initially retained another local attorney which used half of my retainer doing essentially nothing. I was in a very bad situation, and more then 8 months into a very ugly custody fight, I was trying to move out of state with my daughter and her father was fighting me tooth and nail. Compassion and attorney are words that aren’t often used in the same sentence, but I can here. Bill represented me in a no-nonsense, professional, and effective manner. I had never been to family court, but Bill took the fear out of it for me with his representation. Divorce proceedings are complicated; when custody is placed into the equation it becomes exponentially so. Bill worked to settle things outside of court whenever he could, even arranging for 4-Way meetings. The office staff is courteous, competent, and supportive. I hired Mr Edgar to help me with custody and a move away order for my daughter.

The moment I met Mr Edgar I had a weight lifted off me. Just talking to him I knew he was truly going to do all he could to help me. He was human and not like a lot of attorneys who see dollar signs instead of a person in real need of help.

Mr Edgar was honest and blunt with me, He told me the way it was going to go and told me right away that a move away order was almost never granted, Well I will say that this was not the case for me with Mr Edgar as my attorney, I was granted the move away order and was able to move 2200 miles away with my daughter. I know for a fact that if I had not hired Mr Edgar that I would have never been granted the move away order. I Thank God every day for pointing me in the direction of Mr Edgar.

Bill Edgar was wonderful in helping me with my custody case and was key in helping me do what’s right for my kids. He helped defend me in court after being served move away papers by my ex. My ex’s goal was to take the kids away with her out of state to live with her and her boyfriend, and she was very aggressive and relentless in her demands in court, asking the judge for child therapy and a 730 evaluation. Not only did Bill help me fight this case, he succeeded in preventing the move away. After the judge denied the move away, my ex chose to leave the state alone without the kids. I now have my kids almost full time, whereas I had 50/50 previously. Bill was great in standing up and fighting for me against an extremely aggressive opposing counsel and defended dozens of false accusations against me. He is firm, knows the law, and will fight for what is right, which in my case was for the best interest of the children. I’ve had Mr. Edgar for the past two years and he’s been a great attorney. Protip: Best thing to do in family law battles is make it about the children and what’s best for them. Refrain from fighting just to get back at the other party. Attorney Bill Edgar picked up my mess from another attorney I just fired and turned it golden. From paternity tests and issues, to past visitation and bio-mom trying to block every way I tried to interact with my son…whom I had not known till his 6th birthday when CPS called me asking if I wanted to go to my child custody hearing. I decided then and there to ride it all the way out.

My ex married someone else after a two week relationship with me. They named my son their name, on the birth cert., awarded him to bio-mom in their divorce-after notifying me via CPS. weird circumstances to say the least.

If a parent (man) does not assert his paternal relationship with 2 years of birth, the privilege of parenthood goes to whomever the mother deems. I was 4 years past the statute and Bill Edgar Law contested it and won!
Many other things came up in the case (which began when my son was 9). It lasted 2-1/2 years. I had to prove bonding-done. I had to build a foundation for a 730 evaluation-done. I WAS AWARDED SOLE LEGAL AND SOLE PHYSICAL CUSTODY AFTER BEGINNING WITH NO RIGHTS AT ALL. I owe it all to Bill Edgar and his trained team.

Mr Edgar and his staff provided excellent service during my divorce. What started out as simple, quickly turned into a case that involved a restraining order and move-away. Mr. Edgar and Mr Roark, always kept me informed and updated on my case. They guided me through the process, answering my many questions in a timely manner no matter what time of day I had them. What I appreciated most was that they did not promise I would win my case, but did everything they could to make that happen, which it did. When you are looking for an attorney regarding a family law case, you are in an extremely vulnerable position.
